ACR Emergency Whistle

This Whistle was developed for the US Navy and is USCG approved. It has pea-less design and high impact plastic means that it's durable and rugged enough for extended backcountry use. It is one of the loudest emergency whistles available, audible from great distances.

Its unique flat design prevents the whistle from holding water, which unless you are planning on using it to signal an emergency while drowning in an alpine lake, won't be a particularly useful feature for the backcountry hiker.

One of the best things about ACR Emergency Whistle's flat design, however, is that it's virtually unnoticeable when hanging off a lanyard (included) around your neck.  It compact dimensions also make it a great addition to PSKs (Personal Survival Kits).
